" De retour sur le champ de bataille - Return to the battlegrounds "

 

Le vétéran Carl D. BECK du 501st PIR ( Parachute Infantry Regiment )  " H " Cie ( " HOW " ) dans les bois le long de l'ancienne ligne de chemin de fer Bastogne - Bourcy - Gouvy où son unité a combattu et où il a - hélas - perdu de nombreux camarades.
U.S. Veteran Carl D. Beck of " H " (" How" ) company of 501st Parachute Infantry Bn ( PIR ) in the woods along the former Bastogne-Bourcy-Gouvy railroad track, where his unit once fought and where - regretfully - he lost numerous buddies.
Sur le pont surplombant la ligne de chemin de fer - des traces de balles et de shrapnels sont
toujours visibles. On the bridge spanning the railraod track,  traces of bullet- and scrapnel impacts are still visible ... after all those years.
